Hello,
If you use SQL Studio 7.6 with a MaxDB 7.4 it should work with reduced
functionality.
The error you describe shows the ODBC connect to a MaxDB fails without
delivering a usable error code.
One reason could be incorrect system tables after the upgrade.
Please reload the system tables with the DBMGUI 7.6 (Configuration->
Upgrade System Tables)
After reloading the system tables I could connect to a MaxDB Version
7.4.2.30.
If the error remains please start SQL Studio from CMD Line and send us
the trace file.
SQLSto.exe -t trace.log
regards
Wolfgang

Hello Thomas,
it seams that this problem is caused by incompatibility.
When I made my instance by recovery from SapDb 7.4.3.32
(I executed "update system tables" after recovery), this error occoures.
The same siuation is when I try to connect to the older 7.4.3.32
database
on the other computer using new SQL studio.
But connection to the server 7.6.0.16 works OK.
Is SQL Studio compatible with older SapDb versions?
If not it is problem for me because it is impossible to install both
version on 1 PC.
One more question:
How to migrate from 7.4.6.32 -> 7.6.0.16 correctly?
I have found some advice:
http://lists.mysql.com/maxdb/26124
Is it true?
Than you, Dusan.
