CentOS is an (officially) unsupported distribution for ERP 2005.

It can be difficult if not impossible to get the system up and running there
because all the binaries are built using SuSE Linux Enterprise Server. SAP
makes sure, they are compatible between SuSE and Redhat but they can't test
all other distributions.

Maybe someone from the development has an idea what may be cause for this
and if the system is really trying to "write to a file" or if that error is
just a follow-up on a different error.

Do you have a chance to test SuSE SLES 9/10 or Redhat AS 4.0? (not Fedora)?
