Folks;

just a short question as I am unsure how to move along here: Is MaxDB
still being maintained on recent Linux distributions? I am not sure, at
least I see [1] still being open and unassigned, and I also see several
questions in relation to that I (and some other folks as well) posted
to this list not really answered by now.

Don't get me wrong; I really appreciate the work people are doing both
maintaining MaxDB and supporting Open-Source community users like us
right now on this list. Right now, however, we (internally) are sort of
"locked" in our doings due to the lack of any information on that.

Knowing that MaxDB support for recent (Ubuntu)Linux distributions is
not likely to improve anytime soon we would probably consider
evaluating another DBMS as well; knowing that it's just a matter of
months/weeks, we would merrily wait until things improved. So, can
anyone around here be of any help on that? Is there an estimated
timeline for MaxDB to work on Ubuntu distributions newer 6.06? Can we
be of any meaningful help (aside from messing with the DBMS code
ourselves) in order to get things sorted out / speeded up? Or is it,
after all, just a "configuration" / setup issue no one else is
experiencing so far?

Again, I do not intend to be demanding and really apologize if this
mail might look like this, but even "bad" information would be better
than "no" information at all.

Thanks for your patience / understanding and best regards,
Kristian
