I've modified my smb.conf to reflect http://mayan.readthedocs.org/en/development/faq/index.html#document-sharing but still no luck.
The index directories are empty. If I remove the unix extensions = no line then the symlinks return as does my original problem. The host is ubuntu 12.10 server and smbd is version 3.6.3. Any further advice? --
