Found the cause of this behavior and fixed it in the development branch (https://gitlab.com/mayan-edms/mayan-edms/commit/2c9a01bdfc3f2393e238e264f4079aec4748a142), the fix will be included in the next release, version 2.1. Thanks for reporting this.
