I think maypole should be aiming for swanlike elegance - with a nice
smooth unruffled appearence on the surface and rapidly paddling on
it's stubby little legs beneath the water ;)

Rails 'killer' functionality is just the seamless integration of the
best bits ruby has to offer into a bog-standard mvc framework. I know
that maypole already offers more, but with less polish - if we can
just polish and integrate it nicely with consistency and plenty of
documentation we will kick rail's ass ;)

Trying to refactor the model to make better use of the custom code
floating around, like the improved AsForm, SuperModel and Sweet. It's
like doing a jigsaw puzzle where you don't have an idea what it should
look like, some pieces need to be remade and some of the edges of
other pieces need to be sandpapered to fit :)

Currently its laid out in rough notes, and various works in progress.
I'm hoping that my current freelance work will inspire me in how it
works but so far it has gone perfectly smoothly on vanilla maypole
2.10, fortunately this has given me the opportunity to work on some of
the documentation I would have liked to have been there as I was going
along.

I plan to get this freelance work out of the way by the end of the
month, and continue to work on Maypole at the same time, I also need
to submit and prepare a talk for the LPW on email stuff.

Cheers

A.
