I recall people using CDBI:;Plugin::Type as starting point for this. Thats more that i want to think about now. I just added a "column_nullable" method to my model and call that. I'm not worried about my version of AsForm being general anymore. :) Dave Baird, "column_nullable" would fit with your other "column_*" aliases in your module. Someone should send a patch to CDBI::mysql with a bunch of column_* methods and caching of the _column_info .
