Wow, that is totally un-obvious. The search field "Site Search" and its caption are identical on both sites. The fact that the "main" site has a ".de" domain and the "documentation" site has a ".net" domain is the only clue that you're somewhere else, and you'd need to be a mind reader to guess that the "Site Search" does something totally different on each.
