well, reading here it seems like PBT_APMQUERYSUSPEND is outdated:

The plugin offers the functionality to listen for WM_POWERBROADCAST, but I 
can't guarantee it works for all types there as I don't know what windows sends 
to your app.

the structure has a field where you fill the size of the structure so windows 
knows how big it is.
