Christian I am all for you cleaning up the plugins to make your life (and thus ours) happier.
The only ask I have is that you document what items have been depreciated/removed in a separate document than the normal docs (that's well over 1000 pages) so it's easy to find what is leaving or has left the plugins. And if there is a replacement for it like OverlayMBS for OverlayWindowMBS that to be noted. I don't know that we are using anything you have mentioned so far (didn't go through all the codes bases).
