I thought the same too at first, but multiple apps can be launched in Debug 
mode from the IDE with no problem. Just run one app, switch back to Xojo, 
activate the window of the other app, and run that. Getting the apps to see 
each other properly both in Debug mode and after compiled is a bit annoying, 
but you will figure it out. It’s messy and confusing, but at least you don’t 
have to buy another license. After you are sure that the helper is stable and 
both apps are communicating properly and can relaunch or quit if the other 
crashes, you can compile the helper app and run the main app only in Debug 
mode. Just make your main app launch and quit the compiled helper. Then 
debugging is much easier.
