Hi everyone, MbUnit lives in my brain, I wake up and it invades my brain and stays stuck there. In the 21 months since the project was opensourced it's grown into a fully fledged OSS project of which we all can be very proud. This year saw MbUnits first keystone release in 2.3 and let me say again a huge thank you to everyone that helped make it happen.
I have in the past not wanted to really outline any roadmaps because putting timeframes on OSS projects is never a good idea because your giving your free time to it and we are all at the mercy of our day jobs and private lives. I am therefore going to talk about the future and we are working as hard as we can in the time we have to make it happen. MbUnit 2.4 This release will drop 1.0 support and strengthen 2.0 support, already implemented is a new private method test feature and a new rollback. However much more is to come in this release. - Addtional bugs and fixes - generic CollectionAssert support - Improved runner support (ZaneBug GUI support is very close). - Improved reports including compatability support with NUnit reporting (where possible). On the last point this could very well be support a common reporting format that the NUnit folks are interested in working with us on. It will greatly help tool support for MbUnit. If any of you have any home ground asserts of fixtures that you think would be useful to the rest then do mail the group with the details, possibly get it into the framework. MbUnit 3.0 (Gallio) Gallio is an effective rewrite of MbUnit to help simplify the codebase and bring a richer data OM. Exact plans for this are up in the air right now but it will follow on from 2.4 in its support for 1.0 and 1.1, the same fixtures and asserts (although the OM will allow us to improve these) , the same reporting support and the same runner support.
