Well, don't rule out it being Gallio's fault yet. I have a bundle of R# stack traces (in the R# JIRA) to review. I've been doing some triage lately but it's time consuming.
Anyways, if you see an exception in R# that appears to be Gallio's fault, please go ahead and open up an issue.
