The problem is that Owen's arguments make sence for MC as well. I don't
think that all calls to g_get_current_dir() in MC are safe.
I don't think we should revert my patch. Rather, g_get_current_dir()
should be replaced with a fixed version, and all calls to it should be
rechecked.
