Hmmm, all of a sudden it started to work ok again. Certainly I have made some changes to tons of other stuff, I always do, but not to mc, mc is exactly the same. So I went digging in my memories and timestamp snooping and diffing config files and found this in my .bash_profile: #AIKKS!!! export PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033]0;${USER}@${HOSTNAME}: ${PWD}\007"' I don't really recall why I have it here in the first place... So in the "times where it didn't work" I had: export PROMPT_COMMAND='echo -ne "\033]0;${USER}@${HOSTNAME}: ${PWD}\007"' And it seems it was this Yes, I did some scientific testing, commenting and uncommenting this line and it proved so. :/ Now the question is why. -- Jose Celestino || SysAdmin::SAPO.pt http://www.sapo.pt http://xpto.org/~japc ----------------------------------------------------- "Lately, the only thing keeping me from becoming a serial killer is my distaste for manual labor." -- Dilbert _______________________________________________ Mc-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc-devel
