Two solutions to your problem: 1. Switch on 'Lynx like motion' in Options-->Configuration menu. Now you can use only one [LEFT ARROW] key instead of [Home, Enter] combination. And this will stop you in root dir as you got used to. 2. Type 'cd /' command. This will get you to root dir even faster from any subdirectory. That is why I believe those dots in root dir are completely useless.
