If the user doesn't read one message why could we expect him to do read another message? If you select files by pressing "insert" the current file will never be the selected one. The user should know this. If you have only 1 file selected the message clearly states the name of the file mc is about to delete. How could the message be clearer? And if you are deleting more than one file the message also makes that clear, so it should be obvious you are not deleting the current (single) file under the "cursor".
