Summary: tar viewer displays internals of --posix .tar files Project: GNU Midnight Commander Submitted by: ldrolez Submitted on: Sun 01/08/06 at 22:00 Category: VFS Severity: 3 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Release: All versions Platform Version: All _______________________________________________________ Details: ( from http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=346037 ) After creating a tar file using tar's --posix option, e.g. $ touch foo $ tar --posix -cf foo.tar foo the tar viewer of mc shows a directory "PaxHeaders.<number>" that contains some information, probably stuff that cannot placed in the regular tar header. Please consider hiding this internal information as the usual "tar -tf" does. I admit that it's very hard to learn more about the posix (2001) format. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=15407> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Mc-devel mailing list http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc-devel
