Summary: Error when copying symlink over SSH Project: GNU Midnight Commander Submitted by: bilboq Submitted on: Saturday 03/17/2007 at 20:55 Category: VFS Severity: 3 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: current (CVS or snapshot) Operating System: GNU/Linux _______________________________________________________ Details: When I try to copy a file that is symlink from remote server, mc will hang up. How to reproduce: login to some remote server, create some file "x" and symlink "y" pointing to this file: echo "a test of mc bug" >x ln -s x y Use ssh in mc (Shell link ...) and open the server in one of panels. Go to the directory with these two files. You see both "x" and "y" as regular file, 17 bytes large. If you try to copy "x" to local machine, everything works. If you try to copy "y", only first byte of the "x" file is copied into "y"! On some occasions, mc will even hang while copying the symlink and have to be killed. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?19334> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Mc-devel mailing list http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/mc-devel
