this is a bit OT, but:
a) are you trying to send mail to a local user?
b) if not, is a smarthost set?
c) are there any error-msgs?

1) open a terminal to have a look at the log of your MTA. e.g. for
exim4 i'll type: "tail -f /var/log/exim4/mainlog"

2) try the following:
(you can send a testmail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you want; or send
it to your proper webmail-account or whatever. at least
[EMAIL PROTECTED] should be replaced by your proper user, of course.)

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mail -s testing mail-command [EMAIL PROTECTED]
i'm testing the mail-command of mailx. does the local delivery work?
Cc:
<CTRL-D>
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mail
Mail version 8.1.2 01/15/2001. Type ? for help.
