Another important notice! Students who take Chem 130A this spring or summer MAY enroll MCB 100B in the fall. This is a one time offer. In Fall 05, MCB c100A will permanently replace Chem 130A. Per our faculty: The students who will have the traditional P-Chem (Chem. 130A), but will take the new 100B [in fall 05] will miss the amino acids, protein chemistry, protein structure-function, enzymology and catalytic mechanism part that is now in C100A. Nonetheless, they will pick up a lot of enzyme mechanism stuff in 100B, also a lot of enzyme regulation, and amino acids via studying AA synthesis and breakdown, because these subjects are all integral parts of 100B. We do not believe that students who go from Chem130A to MCB 100B will have a competitive disadvantage.
