1. Knight Lab seeking 2 research assistants

The Knight Lab is seeking two research assistants to work on an
exciting project at the frontier
of human neuroimaging

Background:
We are in the process of establishing a new, non-invasive brain
imaging set-up, which will enable
the recording of electrical signals from the scalp
(electroencephalography, EEG), inside a
magnetic field scanner, used for Functional Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (fMRI). Signals recorded
simultaneously from both EEG and fMRI are essential for our
understanding of brain mechanisms
underlying behavior. We have been working on this project for over a
year and have promising
preliminary results. We are now looking for research assistants who
can help us further develop
both data collection and data analysis techniques, to lay the grounds
for multiple cognitive
studies.

General requirements:
For both positions we seek motivated individuals who can devote at
least 10 hours/week.
We are hoping for at least a one semester commitment, preferably longer.
Preference will be given to students from underrepresented minorities.

Compensation:
Students may choose to receive academic credits (to be arranged
through their department) or
monetary compensation. In either case, we expect the student to work
on a volunteer basis for 1-2
months prior to receiving compensation.

Position 1: Data Collection
Responsibilities include assisting in data collection as well as
scheduling and screening
potential subjects. No prior experience is necessary. The student
will be trained in both EEG
and fMRI data collection techniques.

Position 2: Data Analysis
This position is devoted exclusively to the non-trivial analysis of
simultaneously recorded EEG
and fMRI data. Computer experience may be helpful but no prior
programming/computer experience is
necessary. The student will be trained in a wide range of analysis techniques.
