It is expected that much of the project can be accomplished using SAS tools; however, some components may require Java or other programming (for example, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, Adobe Flex, etc. for features that cannot be implemented through out-of-the-box SAS tools or SAS code). The project has a tight timeline; therefore a high skill level, keen attention to detail, and extreme accuracy are necessary. Our client is tasked to build and maintain a searchable, public website presenting State spending for grants and contracts and a web application that will provide the oversight in the use of federal economic recovery funds. This effort supports Governor Perdue’s mandate for a more open government with regard to state spending. Skilled application development will be crucial to the successful presentation of data from disparate systems that will be brought together into a SAS data warehouse. This position will: • Develop detailed application requirements and design specifications by working closely with interagency technical teams. • Collaborate with a SAS data warehouse Data Modeler on the design and development of conceptual models, logical data models, physical data models, and dimensional data models for optimizing reporting in the target applications • Design, develop, test, and implement Web-based client reporting and analytic applications • Provide maintenance, support, and documentation services for client applications • Train clients on the use of the software platform and developed applications *REQUIRED SKILLS:* • SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence Tools • SAS Enterprise Data Integration Tools • SAS Enterprise Foundation Technologies, including SAS Java API • SAS programming • Business intelligence/data visualization, especially OLAP reporting using current generation SAS tools • Recent experience with current Web application technologies, such as Java, J2EE, Ajax, JavaScript, IBM Websphere, Apache Tomcat • Oracle and other relational databases • SAS Bridge to ESRI desirable • Unix (especially Solaris 10 operating system) desirable Working knowledge and experience with technology and applications including: • Proven work experience designing, developing, and deploying applications using the SAS version 9.x Intelligent Platform technology, architecture, and resources • Proven track record for designing, developing, and deploying Web-based business intelligence applications using SAS and Web application technologies • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills • Proven problem solving and decision making skills • Ability to generate detailed and comprehensive work plans and status reports • Ability to work with management at all levels in planning and implementing business intelligence applications • Experience implementing GIS components and data visualization in business intelligence applications desirable • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline with specialized coursework or work experience pertaining to data warehousing and business intelligence. • Minimum of (5) Five or more years developing applications using SAS and Web application technologies or an equivalent combination of training and experience. • Experience in the field of work related to the position,s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis especially in application development environments.
