They should be very skilled at SQL, PL/SQL, and very familiar with databases. They should be very skilled at Java, with experience in JDBC and Hibernate. GWT experience is a plus, but can be the weak part of their repertoire. Communication is a must, as they have eliminated candidates in the past simply because they had a hard time either hearing or speaking English.
