18 month contract


It is an SMS production support role supporting Capital Markets pooling and 
delivery functionality and the resource will work in a disbursed environment 
with the Prod Lead in St. Louis and the developers all over while they are 
sitting in Frederick with part of the team.   


Our most critical items are the following.  I have put this list in order of 
priority from my needs perspective.


  a.. Candidate MUST be a self-starter, capable of handling numerous 
projects/priorities efficiently and effectively 
  b.. Candidate MUST be adaptable and quick leaner of multiple tools and 
systems used for production support and release management. 
  c.. Candidate MUST be able to speak at the business and technical level 
  d.. Candidate MUST be very organized and adhere to timelines 
  e.. Candidate MUST have excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  f.. Candidate should have experience using and updating SharePoint sites (for 
example, create custom lists, calendars, document libraries, announcement 
boards, and dashboards). 
  g.. Candidate Should be proficient using MS Office tools (specifically Excel, 
Word, Visio, Access, Outlook) 
  h.. Candidate should have a background in the mortgage industry 
  i.. Candidate should have working knowledge of the following from the 
perspective that he/she can read and understand the actual code within the 
following areas: 
    a.. Unix/C (can read and understand code), 
    b.. Stored procedures, triggers, views, 
    c.. SQR 
    d.. COBOL 
    e.. PowerBuilder 
    f.. Java or other Web-based development platforms 
  j.. Relational Database experience (intermediate knowledge of Oracle)

understanding of relational databases and models

 Basic Job Description:

  a.. Serve as a liaison between the business user and members of the technical 
support team. 
  b.. Analyze business needs and requirements for production issues and 
proposed new business products or processes.  Lead conflict resolution and 
facilitate decision-making. 
  c.. Communicate with and coordinate efforts among various team members.  
Information may be very time sensitive as a result of processing deadlines and 
financial impacts. 
  d.. Interface with technical, business and product development teams to 
identify requirements specific to a business product/process and translate the 
business application's needs into systems requirements. 
  e.. Interview users to determine their business requirements and 
expectations. 
  f.. Address requests from end-users/customers regarding system issues and 
queue enhancements. 
  g.. Identify and resolve procedural and process problems with applicable 
business areas. 
  h.. Lead complex data collection and analysis activities within application 
production support role including coordination with upstream and downstream 
interfaced applications or processes as required. 
  i.. May be called upon to manage complex infrastructure initiatives (small to 
medium sized projects and/or portions of large cross partner/departmental 
projects) and implementation of systems for new products or processes or for 
the enhancement of current products or processes. 
  j.. Support data conversion activities and assist in the resolution of 
conversion issues. 
  k.. Work with developers to correct and enhance systems by bringing specific 
business and coding knowledge to the technical design process. 
  l.. Engage in data modeling and research alternatives for the development of 
business requirements. 
  m.. Escalate issues as necessary and facilitate resolution. 
  n.. Develop business and technical subject matter expertise on supported 
application and business processes. 
  o.. Prepare detailed functional system test cases that adequately represent 
the business application's needs. 
  p.. Prepare and maintain system documentation in accordance with business and 
technical requirements. 
  q.. Including but not limited to problem/enhancement resolution, business 
process procedures, batch job scheduling documentation, data mapping, process 
diagrams, service level agreements, operational level agreements, capacity 
plans, release game plans, test plans, project plans. 
  r.. Maintain daily production batch dashboard. 
  s.. Maintain developer on-call rotation calendars and paging system to ensure 
required coverage of supported systems. 
  t.. Understand and provide support to application batch jobs, scheduling and 
interactions between mainframe, UNIX, Oracle database and front end 
PowerBuilder user interface.
