Description of Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a well-qualified, driven Senior Java Developer to join a
high-performance development team that is responsible for one of our
strategic business systems. The right candidate seeks out challenges and
thrives in environments of continuous change. They will have contributed
to the success of multiple, enterprise-level, technology solutions - some
of which may have failed - and have through the process gained valuable
experience on what works and doesn't. As a professional engineer, they
will demonstrate a personal commitment to quality; always looking for
opportunities to improve their work and deliver additional value. They
will embrace a collaborative and open approach to development that places
the team's success first. They will have superlative leadership skills and
be able to lead a small team, but equally be a developer, too!
Qualifications
* 10+ years of progressive experience in a J2EE developer role.
* Senior development roles on at least 3 different projects in which
they had personal responsibility for designing/delivering a major aspect of
the system
* Demonstrated proficiency in following technologies is required:
* Java SE & EE
* Databases - SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle
* XML including XPATH, XSD and XSLT
* JMS (Spring JMS a plus)
* Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
* JUnit
* Application meta data configuration
* Front-end and Back-end proficiency
* Demonstrated proficiency in following technologies is preferred
* Spring framework
* Hibernate or similar ORM
* GWT (Swing as an alternate), CSS, Javascript
* jQuery (or other javascript framework such as Dojo)
* Project automation - Ant / Maven
* Web Services - SOAP & RESTful
* JSON
* Weblogic
* Tomcat
* Active MQ
* Pragmatic, not dogmatic, practitioner of Agile:
* Usage of Agile software development methodologies on at least 3
projects (SCRUM preferred, XP or Kanban are valid alternates)
* Usage of Agile software engineering practices on at least 3
projects (Continuous Integration, Unit Tests, Test Driven Development, ...)
* Excellent communication and writing skills
Education
* Bachelor degree in computer science or related field
Salary: 70
