The MIA seeks a qualified professional to maintain, and coordinate
activities around, the data systems containing the museum?s digital content
and intellectual property.  Primary focus will be on the collection
management database used to catalog all art objects (currently The Museum
System ? TMS).  Secondary focus will be on maintaining and coordinating
activities around additional content database systems, including those that
contain digital assets such as images, video, audio, multimedia (currently
Virage Media Bin), and those that contain digital information to be
archived and/or published (via the website, mobile website, intranet, and
onsite interactive learning stations).



Requirements include: college degree, preferably in Art History or
Humanities (Masters Degree preferred), or applicable experience
demonstrating abilities in data management and reporting; minimum of two
years experience in data management, with complex content database systems;
proficiency with Crystal Reports, familiarity with MS-SQL and MS-Access;
strong technical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail,
proof-reading skills and writing skills; strong verbal and written
communication skills; ability to exercise discretion and independent
judgment, and to understand and maintain the highest levels of
confidentiality; highly motivated and able to work independently and as
part of a dynamic, collaborative team.  Previous experience in a museum
setting and with TMS and/or relational database systems preferred.
