Best session of theme 'Building a New Public Space' Sustaining Aggregators of Digital Heritage Having entered the age of mass digitisation and international aggregators of digital heritage, we are facing the major challenge of sustaining all that we have achieved digitally. We have only just begun to understand the costs and commitments involved in maintaining?digital services beyond the project lifetime. The DISH2011-session 'Sustaining Aggregators of Digital Heritage' presents some useful?approaches to keep shared services with digital heritage?alive. Time & Place: Thu 08 Dec | 14:00 - 15:30 | Diamond Room II Best session of theme 'Business for Heritage' Public Private Partnerships for Cultural Heritage Online No better proof for the value of digital heritage than finding private companies and persons willing to invest in your collections or services. Policy makers at national level as well as the European Commission are urging you, directors of heritage institutions, to enter into collaboration with private partners. Taking the Google Books project at the Austrian National Library as an example this session will bring a number of experts together to find answers to questions like: When are commercial partnerships profitable? and How do you combine credibility and broad access to cultural assets? Time & Place: Thu 08 Dec | 11:15 - 12:15 | Mees Auditorium Best session of theme 'Institutional Change' Change Achieved Through Action Is change in organisations driven by strategic or operational incentives? Some think that change is initiated by management, while others see clear arguments to state that change is provoked through projects and changing work processes. In this session we will treat four cases (from Denmark, the US and the Netherlands ) to discuss the main stimuli for change. Afterwards the audience is invited to present its own cases for discussion.
