Dear Museum Computer co-Networkers,

Build your own data-driven physical objects using Google, Twitter, Arduino,
whatever!

For those of you who attended the marvellous Slack day at MCN2012, organised by
the equally marvellous trio of Rich Barrett-Small, Ed Rodley and Miriam Langer,
you may have seen me demo my rather grotesque proof-of-concept prototype
Twitr_janus - a web-controlled data-driven puppet head, powered by APIs and
data feeds. I built it to demonstrate for real, some theoretical uses of freely
accessible and/or open source stuff on the web.

To save time continually re-explaining how it works, I have (finally) written
the project up on Instructables.

You can read in reasonable detail how this worked, and hopefully get ideas for
how you could re-use any of the concepts. For example, pimping a Google
spreadsheet and standard form, to produce a data feed for remote-controlling a
physical objects - how neat is that?!

Here's the link. I was flattered that Instructables featured it on their home
page, and to celebrate, I am giving away the 3-month Instructables Pro
Membership that I was rather generously awarded for my efforts.

Although I can't be sure, I think the original spark for the inspiration came
from one of the many great conversations with various creative minds within the
MCN community, and so it's up for grabs for anyone on this MCN list, in case it
inspires them to share the love :)

To decide who gets it, I'll choose someone at random. The easiest way to do
this is if you retweet the link I just sent and I'll pick someone at random

To be in it to win it, retweet...

I'll DM the winner the code!

Enjoy!
[ps - apologies if anyone receives this twice. It appeared not to go first time
I sent]
