> Responsibilities: 
> Effectively carry out digitization of visual materials using a range of 
> digital capture hardware, including slide and flatbed scanners and face-up 
> scanning and photography equipment. Perform image enhancement and correction 
> after digitization. Convert and manage digital media files, applying 
> compression and other transformations as appropriate. Perform QC and review 
> image standards. Digitize audio and video for course support. Assist with 
> Books Digitization workflow and with managing born digital content. Assist in 
> monitoring and managing departmental computing resources, including shared 
> network storage. Help maintain departmental tracking databases for 
> digitization jobs and descriptive databases to manage digital assets. Test 
> new systems and systems under development. Serve as backup for other 
> departmental services.
> Required Qualifications: 
> 1. Bachelor?s degree or the equivalent education, experience, and training 
> from which comparable skills can be acquired. 2. Advanced working knowledge 
> of digital imaging hardware and software, including Adobe Photoshop. 3. Basic 
> familiarity with image quality evaluation, color management and color 
> correction.
> Preferred Qualifications: 
> 1. Previous museum, visual resources, or academic or research library 
> experience. 2. Previous experience with mass image digitization and/or 
> digitization on demand. 3. College level course work in Art, Art History, 
> Photography, Film, Digital multimedia or a related field.
