Greetings! Recently, I posted about the Digital POWRR team offering a free digital preservation workshop in San Francisco on September 9, 2014. We were extremely humbled when our registration system informed us that we reached capacity on the workshop as well as the wait list in less than 24 hours! The San Francisco Public Library was kind enough to offer us a room to put the workshop on for a second day, and folks who had signed up to the wait list have now been contacted about this new offering. I realize that members of this list may have tried to register for the workshop and were denied, so I wanted to publicize some of the other places where we will be putting on the same workshop later this year. In addition to the 2 San Francisco workshops, we will also be at the AASLH, AMIA, and Digital Frontiers conferences, (and at several other places that have not opened registration). Please feel free to keep up with our schedule at our website: http://digitalpowrr.niu.edu/ We are interested in performing even more workshops, but are running out of available money and time for this year. We are seeking additional funding to extend and enhance the workshops that would begin in 2015, and even if we are not successful on that front, we may be able to continue offering them through some other arrangement. Thank you again for your support and interest in the Digital POWRR Project! Best Wishes, Stacey Erdman (on behalf of the Digital POWRR Team) Stacey Erdman Digital Collections Curator
