We are planning an exhibit of the Painted Churches in Texas. We will have
gigapan images of the insides of the churches. I’ve been trying to figure out
the best way to have a location where visitors can sit down and study the
images in detail, zooming in and out and moving around. I had been looking at
4K UHD TVs for a display but I have been told they are not of a good enough
quality. What is being used as a cheap solution by the gigapan image owners is
the iMac 5K maxed out. Because of the size I’m not sure if it would would be
as impressive, as a 65” curved screen monitor.
Has anyone tried using an iMac 5K in an exhibit? We would hide the key
board and only have the track pad available for the customer. The customer
could select from several churches to view. The track pad would be on a table
top to provide wrist support for the person using the track bad. We had
thought of other 3D human interfaces, but we have a lot of senior tours and
most of them are going to need something to rest their wrist on.
     Ideas/thoughts?
