***#ARCSChat April 2nd: Has This Ship Sailed? A Critical Look at Current Transportation Standards and Practices*** As Collection Stewards we are often tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the safe transportation of our collections from point A to point B, and everywhere in between. But, in the balancing act that is our profession, have we given adequate pause to re-examine, with a critical eye, the current safety standards and practices of shipping? In April’s #ARCSChat, we'll discuss our industry's criteria regarding the transportation of collections, reflect on practices that are effective and those which are antiquated, and work to determine potential changes to ensure the future safety of our moving collections. Join us April 2nd at 8 PM EST on Twitter.

They hope to include new stories and words of advice from the field for this new edition. If you have devised a particularly clever or elegant solution to a traveling exhibition problem, please share it. And if you have experienced a horror story or a laughable incident on the road with an exhibition, they want to hear about those too! Send your Tale from the Road essay of 500 to 1000 words to Jean Gilmore at jean.gilmor...@gmail.com no later than 1 July 2019. Include one or two photos only if they are important to convey your message. If they are able to include your essay and/or photographs, you will be sent a copyright release document later, and will receive a copy of the finished book in thanks for your contribution. Thank you! ***Catch up on #ARCSChat*** Missed the March #ARCSchat?
