Good afternoon— We're beginning to assess our collections metadata; specifically, we want to make some decisions about whether and how to restructure it and clean it up. Since we don't have a metadata specialist on staff, we're looking outside the organization for insight. Our collections are mixed: archives, photographs, paintings, 3D objects (including small watercraft). Can anyone advise me on the best schemata to use for these varied holdings? How would any of you approach the structuring of mission-specific metadata which doesn't fit intuitively into existing formats? We're aiming for maximum interoperability to increase ease of sharing digital collections with larger/other repositories. We're grateful for any suggestions. Best regards, Matt Wheeler
