Preamble:
God, the differences between PeeCees and Amigas can be a real PAIN
sometimes. I'm just about to retype the whole of this message that
you see below, because I did a select-all (with the mouse) and
pressed "Ctrl-C" to copy-to-clipboard. OH BUGGER!
My actual message :
Can anyone advise me how to check multiple accounts - with one /or
more/ ISPs - all from within a SINGLE "account" within MD2?
This seems to be a standard facility with other e-mail 'clients', and
I find it much-needed.
I know I know, I /could/ simply restrict myself to a single a/c with a
single ISP. But I find there are sevveral solid sound reasons for not
doing this. I have four accounts to check - one each with UkOnline,
Freeserve, Uk2.net and Screaming.Net. I'm fairly sure that I am not
especially unusual in this respect.
When I check them from my office on a Pee Sea, with either Pegasus or
a Micro$oft prog, I have them all assigned in a list to a single
'identity' -- ME!. With MD2 on the Amiga, though, I have to,
(a) change accounts manually, then select Check mail
again for each separate account which is a bore,
(b) change accounts manually to move between all
the separate collections of my mail.
I've tried to figure out a way of, at the least, filtering and MOVEing
incoming mail from the four accounts all into one place. I thought
I could cope with all the manual account changes/account checks, if
at least I could end up with all the mail for a single person (in my
case, erm, ME), in one place. No luck. It turns out that you can only
use the mailMove facility between preset places that are all within a
single account.
Can anyone help me with this?
I'd be most grateful.
