It did start. I think I had better go check my path again.

I was wrong--it does start Snoopdos. But it seems to get stuck in a loop:

It definitely hangs forever if it starts Snoopdos, but does the job in
one or two seconds if I start Snoopdos first.
The new one doesn't work even if I start Snoopdos first.
