This has something to do with nntp-pointer. <example> On first fetch, group foo.bar has 300 articles, enumerated from 900 to 1210. --> md2 will download 300 Artikels, and put them in that folder foo.bar. As we have just subscribed to foo.bar, this folder has 300 messages. NNTP-pointer for that group is set to 1210. On the next fetch, that group has 30 new Articles, now counting from 900 to 1240. --> md2 goes back to 1210, fetches the next 30 articles, and sets pointer to 1240. Now we have 30 new articles in folder foo.bar, marked as new. Before the next fetch, the message counting 1240 is canceled, leaving a hole. --> after fetch, we have 329 'new' messages in folder foo.bar, for each one 'old' and one 'new' entry, except the last. </> > What can I do to solve the Problem? For now, switch from 'offline' (full article) to 'online' mode (headers only). If you don't want to keep a permant connection to your news server, you will now have to select all (unread) messages from each folderview and download them manually (Download in Message menu). Or change to a news server that doesn't apply cancel messages... ;-) My poor sugestion for a fix: an additional history file for each news folder, storing nntp-index and/or msg-id of each message being put to it, indicating this not to download for this folder again. To avoid this list from exceding to inf it should be updated from time to time, removing entries for messages that are no longer on server. > BTW: Is it possible to make a MAX-Messages for downlod field and a Request > when mor masseges arrived for downlod as spezified?
