The titling and audio storage sections on MD are completely
distinct. But even if you could use ALL the titling space for audio,
it would only gain you another .05 seconds* of music (.1 seconds in
mono).

* 8bytes/nameblock X 256nameblocks X 8bits/byte / 292500bits/second 

Also, there are 80 minute blanks available now. 

You also write:

This is caused by normal fragmentation during editing, please see this
section in the FAQ: "I've heard that after many recordings and edits an
MD can become fragmented, is this a problem?":
