Hi Folks, Nice New Year we've got here. I'm approaching burnout on the copyright subject. I think a lot of interesting ground has been covered. I want to part with this URL from the RIAA's (Recording Industry Association of America) web site, have a read if you're interested: http://www.riaa.com/tech/techht.htm I like their page because even though it has an inherent bias in favor of the recording industry, it still spells out that you can copy what you like (with AHRA complaint devices) "without fear of copyright liability, as long as it is not done for commercial purposes". Of course they go on to moralize about how this hurts artists, etc. Again, I think the only topic we have a hope of dealing with is whether home taping and trading is legal. (The moral and ethical issues are frequently hard resolve even within ourselves, there's no hope of doing it on a mailing list of thousands). I'd like to kindly suggest that further discussion on the topic stick with that.
