Going from 80m to 320m is a 4X change, meaning the final compression ratio is 20:1. This sounds like ATRAC2/3 running in 73kbps mode (that bit rate for ATRAC2 is mentioned in http://www.minidisc.org/atrac2.html). Well, should perfect for all those web MP3 files!
