This is the $64K question. From the description, it looks like a good idea. There's only one glaring ommission: some kind of test results indicating that listeners actually thought it sounded better. Without that, it's impossible to know if they made any meaningful improvements. It would seem to indicate however that they've managed to do (or have requested) some independent development of ATRAC.
