Sorry, but as an employee of a major mobile phone dealership, I have nothing
nice to say about Motorola's given the amount of problems we've had with
them.

As for your Li-Ion battery, the only advice I give to people is to top it up
whenever they get the chance. It's not easy to overcharge them, so once
every night or so is perfectly OK. But by all means, don't let the battery
get completely discharged - half-way is as far as I would go, where
practicable.

Lithium batterys are weird creatures.

The one on my startac usually gave 18 hours of go, one day it decided to go
for about 25 hours on that battery... after that I could never get more then
3 hours out of the battery and it would never give any warning that it was
going flat.
