I love the Sony Hi-8mm format and I will get a Digital8 camcorder to link to my Sony Vaio PC soon. I have 2 Sony Hi-8mm VCRs that record DVD movies beautifully, and a Hi-8mm camcorder. Forget VHS. I just rent DVDs, I've stopped collecting any kind of pre-recorded formats at all, just copy to Minidisc, Hi-8mm video, or my hard drive. Last format I collected was vinyl and now I have a cabinet full of it (most dubbed to MD now). Why anyone would want pre-recorded Minidiscs I could never understand, nor pre-recorded cassettes. I guess I have more time to dub than others, I like to make my own versions. If manufacturers don't want me to copy for my own use then why do those same manufacturers sell me the machines (with added royalty fees) to do it. Most of what I have copied I either bought, rented, got off TV, or the internet. And yes I would pay for individual songs (not whole discs) or video off the net when available. DV was not economical or compatible enough for my needs which Sony has realized by selling Digital8. It will be interesting to see if Sony will push Memory Stick harder than they did for Minidisc. I think they will, they've designed it for use in most all of their formats and in many upcoming devices. That's all my thoughts on Sony formats. Minidisc has been a wonderful success with me. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
