**************************************************************************** ************ * Cross posted to the MiniDisc Mailing List and the MiniDisc Community Page Webmaster * **************************************************************************** ************ Dear Sir, I had picked up the latest Tandy Electronics (Radio Shack as known outside America) and they are selling an Orion CD/MD deck which is just about the same as the Goodmans Delta 901, the Hitachi and the Memorex CD/MD decks. This unit is retailing for $797 at that store;.Also the Orion label tends to be sold in various discount stores and department stores as a downmarket label appealing to the budget end of the market -- mainly selling low-end televisions and video recorders. This deck could easily crop up in many suburban discount stores and let those who own older "ghetto blasters", music centres and casseivers equipped with an AUX input and a REC output for connection to equipment like external tape decks modernize these devices with a CD player and a MiniDisc deck at a cost-effective price. With one box, you can 1. Listen to music recorded on CDs or MiniDiscs 2. Record from CDs to MiniDiscs by working the one device 3. Record vinyl, cassettes and radio from the primary sound system onto MiniDisc (great for preserving out-of-print vinyl and cassette recordings) With regards, Simon Mackay ----------------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
