Has anyone on this list ever used this thing? I don't exactly know what to make of it. MSRP is supposedly $ 1695, yet, one of the very few places Alta Vista had this item listed was a doctor's office or hospital inventory that listed 40 brand new units still in the boxes at $ 600 each. A guy on E-Bay is selling a bunch of these. Here's what it is: A Sony MD Data/MD Audio (MD Data 1) storage and recording deck capable of taking 128K JPEGS (with an external video camera) and playing back these images on a standard NTSC television. There is no mention of this unit in the MD community pages. There are no digital ins or outs, so SCMS is not an issue as the unit will record analog only. It appears to have some really unique still image capabilities.
