In regards to the HDTV post, I put that here and in the TRV900 group knowing I had a much better chance of actually reaching someone who would be interested and meet the criteria by informing the maximum number of high tech savvy individuals possible. In regards to the post regarding race, etc, being off topic it was written immediately after a poster had written something like he was a proud brown owner of a MD unit. Unfortunately, it did not appear until nearly a day after I wrote it. I have absolutely no problem with the guy being brown or anything else. I wanted to head off any kind of heated thread which might have developed regarding racism, sexual orientation, etc. Such things are so common on the web and it is completely maddening to me to, for example, be looking through the DVD group as I was a couple of days ago and click on a post written by a guy who cross posted racial hatred to many groups. It appalls me as someone whose duty it is to not judge people in that way that someone would dare try to influence a position I had to teach myself that should be just plain logical-and someone tries to throw their prejudices out into public to influence impressionable people to their own self damaging and society damaging prejudice. Fortunately, the members of this list employ a great deal of intelligence and civility and that thread never occurred. Debate about anything that enriches the knowledge of the list as a whole, but leave prejudicial attacks aside.
