As far as I know, the DJ MD players (Dennon's MD2300R and the MD1000?)
try to act like the DJ CD players do
  - pitch changed (speed)
  - tone change (bass/treble)
The two can be linked so that you can play Barry White at techno speeds
but not have him sound like the chipmunks - something that 1200MKIIs
cant do (without the mod box that shifts the tone back down)

The nice thing is that MDs have better seamless looping than a CD due
to the buffer size. Thus you can mix a loop - and edit to frame by frame
and put the look on a "hot button" on the MD players. Then loop
the track continiously. In essence - use the MD like a super long sample
playback device (or short samples if you prefer).
Also - with the hot keys you can load "pharases" as drop ins and
hit them when the other MD (or CD sources) are going.
