Even costly portable pro models have their limitations:

Marantz: no Optical I/O nor USB
HHB: no SCMS bypass

>>Hi folks.
>>Other than digital out, what other differences are there between the

>You can get digital outputs on several players that don't really qualify
>as "pro" models. What you can might find on pro models:
>PS2 keyboard socket for fast titling from a standard keyboard.
>Coax, *and* TOSLINK inputs, *and* outputs.
>XLR mix jacks
>Line level that is quiet, and headphone output that is loud (something
>Sony really need to learn with the MZ-R series)
>Possibly USB
>The ability to make track seperations in a more percise manor.
>SCMS bypass.
>A very sturdy case.
>Pitch control
>A big price
>Probably more
