You can damage the recording, but not the minidisc or the recorder.  The
recorder will clip the sound and it will be distorted, but it will still
work when you record at standard levels.

It is not likely but it is possible.  Maybe something like a stick of
dynamite going off would do it.  Probably do in everything as you pick
up the pieces and shrapnel <G>
