This will allow you to decide how you want to handle messages which contain password protected ZIP files. Recent virus outbreaks have shown us that the virus writers have figured out that they can defeat most AV software by adding the virus to a password protected ZIP file. Since the password protection process involves encrypting the ZIP file this changes the ZIP file signature making it very difficult or impossible to detect the embedded virus. Also, since there is a password involved AV software can not reliably open and scan the ZIP file contents. If a message is non scannable or if an error occurs during virus scan, the message will automatically be quarantined. In order to disable this feature for any reason set the following key in the cfilter.ini file: [VirusScanner] QuarantineNonScan=No (default is Yes) CHANGES AND ADDITIONAL NEW FEATURES - ----------------------------------- o The installer will delete RFC822.MBF with each new install. This allows MDaemon to make sure the most recent version of this file is rebuilt. o It is now possible to specify multiple mail attributes when using LDAP servers to verify Gateway mail recipients. This is sometimes needed when the LDAP server contains one attribute to store the mail address and a different attribute to store aliases. The LDAP tab of the Gateway editor has been updated with instructions on how to specify multiple attributes. o Please add 'X-Spam-Flag: YES' to your auto-responder exceptions in order to prevent auto responders from being triggered by spam. Alternatively, you can delete the AUTORESPEXCEPT.DAT file and MDaemon will create a new default when it starts up. o Some changes were made to CFEngine to make it use a little less RAM. o Inbound SMTP RBL lookups that receive a "domain does not exist" response from the primary DNS server are no longer retried with the secondary DNS server. o MDaemon's domain format checker was modified to recognize domains which have no '.' character and also domains with the '..' character sequence. In both cases the domain format is invalid. o To prevent files from being "in use" the uninstaller will stop WebAdmin before uninstalling MDaemon. o Message folders can now be configured so that new messages are auto- matically flagged as "read" rather than "unread".
